As over 90% of our patients are funded by their NHS Primary Care Trust or Local Health Board, the current financial constraints are having an impact on us and for the time being our in-patient lymphoedema treatment clinics are suspended.
We are proud of the success of our intensive decongestive lymphatic therapy and the way so many sufferers have been able to improve their physical condition and their quality of life with our treatment and support.
We are not the only ones to recognise the continuing need for this sort of in-patient lymphoedema treatment and we are exploring alternative funding. This treatment must be accessible to patients with the clinical need for it irrespective of how they came to develop lymphoedema and where they happen to live.
